My name is Pat Edwards and I’m a writer, reviewer, and workshop leader from mid Wales. I started writing poetry around 2014 following illness and have since gone on to work really hard learning from others by reading and attending as many different poetry events as possible.
For me, poetry has always been a means of making sense of what’s going on in my own life and in the wider world. It’s about healing and finding ways to express myself, but I also feel driven to share my words with others and to give people opportunities to hear and read good quality poetry in workshops and at events.”
I host bi-monthly Verbatim open mic nights which feature guest poets, and facilitate monthly Touch Paper workshops, both at the Poetry Pharmacy Lab in Bishop’s Castle.
I have had work published in a wide range of magazines and anthologies, including Magma, Prole, Atrium, Ink Sweat & Tears. My three pamphlets are Only Blood (Yaffle), Kissing in the Dark (Indigo Dreams), and Hail Marys (Infinity UK), and my debut collection is waiting in the wings, as well as a further pamphlet.
